Why we do what we do
September is the most beautiful month of the year. Of course, the one writing this is biased—it’s the month of her birth! The return to school, fresh beginnings, the golden days of late summer: no scent is sweeter to her, since it was the very first one she ever breathed in.
But September is also the month when Mamie and Grannie left us. A few years apart, yes, but the effect on the family, and on everyone who loved them, remains the same: September now carries with it melancholy, heartache, and a deep sense of solitude.
Yet Mamie Merveilles and Grannie Wonderful would never want that!
Just as their names suggest, they were the kind of women who marveled at the world, clung to hope, and (re)kindled the flame in everyone lucky enough to cross their paths.
So knowing that we sit and grieve their absence? That wouldn’t please them one bit.
That’s why, on September 10th, 2025, Mamie Merveilles & Grannie Wonderful was born, created to carry on their traditions and to share them with as many people as possible.
We remember, and we share!
So that we never forget the warmth of their presence—and above all, so that we don’t keep all their wisdom and treasures just for ourselves. They were never the jealous type. And they certainly wouldn’t want us to jealously cling on to their memory. So, we share—and we hope it brings you as much comfort as it brings us.
